Our Cayman practice comprises more than 40 lawyers, thirteen of whom are based in our Cayman Islands office. Others based in our Hong Kong, London, Singapore and Dubai offices provide advice to clients in those regions. The Cayman team provides legal advice on a broad range of transactions including M&A, corporate finance, debt and equity capital markets, private equity and venture capital transactions, aircraft and other asset financings, securitizations and corporate restructurings.
Our Cayman practice is well-known for assisting clients to achieve their business objectives by providing responsive and commercial advice. We recognise and understand the role we play on international transactions that are led by onshore counsel and believe that our policy of having a high proportion of very senior lawyers in the Cayman team (the majority of which are 10 years+ PQE) is welcomed by our clients because of the quality of advice that is readily available and the efficiency it brings to the conduct of our work.
In a collaborative effort between partners in our Cayman and Hong Kong offices our Cayman team has authored the 2nd edition of Cayman Islands Company & Commercial Law, an authoritative text published by Sweet & Maxwell in 2019. This was the first publication to cover the whole ground of Cayman company and commercial law, from companies and partnerships to commercial trusts, together with IPOs, M&A, guarantees and secured lending, funds, insurance and dispute resolution.
