Antitrust: Mainly Plaintiff

For over 30 years, Constantine Cannon has been a preeminent antitrust firm focused on litigating “change-the-industry” cases. We have achieved record-setting results for our clients and have reformed industries to promote competition and benefit the public, including three of the largest known private antitrust settlements in U.S. history. We also have substantial experience defending against antitrust claims.

We recently represented and settled the claims of more than 60 merchants and trade associations seeking reform of Visa’s and Mastercard’s anti-competitive rules and seeking substantial damages from supra-competitive prices (so-called “interchange fees”) imposed on merchants. Our clients included some of the largest corporations in the world, including Amazon, Booking Holdings, Costco, Dick’s Sporting Goods, IKEA, NIKE, Ralph Lauren Corp., Starbucks, The Gap, and Yum! Brands.

The firm also recently settled a landmark antitrust class action where it represented millions of businesses and individuals alleging that Sutter Health, one of the largest health systems in California, illegally tied together different hospitals’ services and imposed unreasonable trade restraints to charge health plans higher prices, which led to higher health-insurance premiums. In the healthcare sector, we also represent CVS in its multi-billion-dollar antitrust claims in In re Generic Pharmaceuticals Antitrust Litigation.
