Calfee’s Insurance Coverage group serves corporate insurance policyholder clients on all aspects of insurance coverage legal needs. 

Our Insurance Recovery lawyers help clients identify insurance assets to provide coverage, develop and present coverage claims to insurance companies, negotiate resolutions to insurance coverage disputes, and litigate against insurance companies in court and alternative dispute resolution forums.

• Help public, closely held, and private equity clients secure and negotiate representations and warranties insurance to protect M&A deal values.
• Counsel clients’ risk management teams and work with brokers on insurance procurement and renewals and help clients maximize the scope of coverage through customized endorsements to standard policy forms. 
• Counsel clients and work with brokers to evaluate and negotiate specialized policy enhancements, i.e., cyber, directors’ and officers’ (D&O), fiduciary, and employment practices liability (EPL) policies.
• Help clients identify insurable losses, provide effective notice and claim submissions to insurers, address reservations of rights and denials issued by insurers, and negotiate the resolution of coverage disputes with insurers.
• Prosecute and defend insurance coverage lawsuits in state and federal trial and appellate courts nationwide and in arbitration and mediation.
• Guide clients on issues involving large self-insured retentions, deductibles, retrospective premium arrangements and captive insurance programs.
