BSP’s business and commercial group is known for its strength in business torts, class actions, and complex commercial disputes, particularly those with potential regulatory or product-liability ramifications. We have experience in cases at all stages of litigation: we are national discovery counsel for 2 major manufacturers, we have lawyers who have tried cases in over 20 states, and we also act as specialized appellate counsel throughout the country. This coverage for any litigated matter, coupled with our focus on the objectives for each case, sets BSP apart and gives us the capacity to generate positive outcomes in a variety of settings (mediation, motion practice, trial, arbitration, and appeal). We are also proud of our track record of parachuting into ongoing litigation—sometimes just weeks before trial—and turning around stagnant or failing strategies to create favorable results. We pride ourselves on case-management determined by the client’s goals. While that sometimes means aiming for an early settlement, other times those goals call for a trial-focused, aggressive approach culminating in focused, fearless presentations in courts. These strategies have enabled us to get the results our clients want. Notably, we have defended a manufacturer in a $80 million supply dispute, defended a business owner in a $100 million alter-ego / veil-piercing action, and acted as counsel for a company in a $100 million patent, copyright, trade secret, and unfair competition action.
