Historically, the Tokyo office has assisted a significant number of global players in this sector with the full spectrum of their legal needs including compliance, licensing and collaboration, operational, regulatory, research and transactional matters including M&A and reorganization. In recognition of the importance to our clients of our lawyers' having the requisite industry knowledge, we formed a new cross-practice group of professionals active in and interested in pursuing careers focused on the healthcare and life sciences sector.

The group comprises 29 lawyers from across all of the office's practice groups including the Regulatory, Antitrust, Corporate/M&A, Dispute Resolution, Compliance, IP and Technology, Employment and Tax practices. The group is committed to sharing the experience and developing the knowledge of its members in the sector. The group has implemented a sophisticated training program for its members on legal topics specific to the sector and also maintains matter and know how databases to ensure members have access to all current know how, experience and expertise within the Firm both locally and globally.
