The law firm Anwälte Burger und Partner (ABP) was founded by Managing Partner Dr. Hannes Burger in 2008. Founding the law firm was part of the natural evolvement of ABP, as it meant expanding the service range starting out from the basis, the – still existing – first ABP company ABP PATENT NETWORK as a software, research and annual fee service provider, to a full-service IP boutique and law firm.

Every aspect of ABP is specialized in and focused on the field of Intellectual Property.

ABP is a large filer and counts to the Top 5 filer at the EUIPO Online Filing System.

ABP has always been a pioneer in the field of digital integration in the working environment of Intellectual Property.

In April 2020, ABP was part of the very first European opposition proceedings that took place via video conference. In these proceedings, Anwälte Burger und Partner represented the client Kurt Mühlböck in the matter relating to the patent EP3111148B2. With respect to the subject matter of the proceedings, ABP was able to achieve a rejection of the adversary’s opposition. Thus, for the client and for ABP, the proceedings were successful in all facets.

To be a part of the first complete videoconference at the EPO was a great honor, but also a logical consequence of this development.
