We act predominately on the borrowing side. Our experience was recognised at the Housing Association National Accountancy Awards 2017 as the best external professional advisor for the social housing sector. Our expertise includes capital markets expertise (public bond issues and private placements - US and UK); a specialist property charging team, providing strategic and structural advice regarding the funding of joint ventures and the use of treasury vehicles within a RP group. We were the first law firm to complete pension fund sale and leasebacks acting on behalf of registered providers (Derwent Living) and the first firm to complete a shared ownership investment model using out of sector sale and management lease back (also Derwent Living). 

We work closely with our social housing governance colleagues when ACS is acting on mergers, in respect of group consolidation and the financing consequences with several lenders and when that team is advising registered providers on joint ventures and property development finance.
