ASL’s Corporate & M&A practice advises on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments and equity capital markets transactions. The team acts for multinational corporations, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds and government-linked entities, including on cross-border transactions and matters involving regulated sectors. The practice is led by a core group of partners closely involved in key mandates, particularly those requiring structured execution, stakeholder coordination and regulatory input. The team has experience across financial institutions, consumer retail, telecommunications and investment platforms, and is noted for commercially focused advice in transactions involving multiple stakeholders and complex regulatory frameworks. The firm has seen increased activity in private equity and investment-driven transactions, including strategic investments and joint venture and fund platform structures under initiatives such as Dana Pemacu, including co-general partner and Shariah-compliant models. The practice also advises on equity capital markets transactions, including IPOs such as Eco-Shop Marketing Berhad and Wasco Greenergy Berhad, and on corporate aspects of infrastructure and energy-related investments.
