Media, technology and IP law firm Wiggin has announced that telecoms specialist Victoria Harris-Honrado has joined the firm as a Partner. The hire underlines the firm’s commitment to the telecoms industry following the arrival of Gordon Moir and his team in October 2020.

Harris-Honrado joins from Three and brings a wealth of experience in handling telecoms mandates with a specialism for competition law and regulatory matters including consumer and network regulatory issues. Before her time in-house she spent nine years in private practice, including at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Hogan Lovells in Brussels.

John Banister, CEO, Wiggin said: I’m delighted to welcome Victoria to the partnership. As the past two years have demonstrated, the telecoms sector is vital to all. It will only become more so as we move increasingly online, making connectivity critical to all elements of our lives, both personal and professional. I’ve no doubt telecoms will continue to be a key sector for us as we continue to pursue our vision of being the destination law firm for a digital world.”

Victoria Harris-Honrado, Partner, Wiggin said: “Having spent almost 12 years in-house at one of the UK’s largest mobile network operators, I’m well versed on the challenges that telecoms businesses encounter. My experience gives me a genuine understanding of the client viewpoint and the ability to provide commercial advice that goes beyond the purely legal. Wiggin’s reputation within the industry continues to go from strength-to-strength and I’m very much looking forward to working with Gordon and the team as we continue to grow our offering.”

In 2020, Wiggin added a new telecoms practice headed by Gordon Moir. Wiggin acts for many of the world’s leading telecommunications providers as well as regulators and financial investors providing cutting edge support for these players with unrivalled depth of expertise in this space.   Wiggin also strengthened its award-winning IP practice with the arrival of two lateral partner hires, Calum Smyth in London, and Carina Gommers in Brussels. The firm also acquired specialist digital entertainment practice, Purewal & Partners.
