Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (“NORD/LB”) on the €45.5m bridge financing of a wind farm portfolio in Poland, being developed and built by Danish developer European Energy. The portfolio consists of five wind farms located in Poland with a total capacity of 44.675 MW.

The WFW Germany team advising NORD/LB was led by Hamburg Banking & Finance Partner Thomas Hollenhorst, supported by Managing Associate Dr Paul-Vincent Hahn and Associate Jakob Paluszkiewicz. The team worked closely throughout the transaction with correspondent Polish law firm Domański Zakrzewski Palinka Sp.k on local law matters.

Thomas commented: “We are delighted to have advised our long-standing client NORD/LB on this complex cross-border bridge financing. Our role in this transaction not only underpins WFW’s standing as one of the leading legal advisors for cross-border finance work in the renewable energy space in Europe, but also positions us at the forefront of development in the fast-expanding Polish renewables market”.
