MIAMI, Fla.(Oct. 19, 2017) – Statewide law firm Broad and Cassel LLP today announced the addition of associates Valentin Arenas and Franco Furmanski to the Miami office.
Arenas joins the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Arenas joins the firm after serving as a judicial intern to the Honorable Jose Rodriguez in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida and to the Honorable Beth Bloom in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Fluent in Spanish, he holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from the University of Miami. He went on to earn his juris doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he was named to the Dean’s List twice and a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society.
Furmanski joins the firm’s Corporate and Finance Practice Group. Prior to joining Broad and Cassel, he was a law clerk with Chepenik Trushlin, LLP, in Miami. While there, he assisted with estate planning and commercial litigation matters. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and earned his juris doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, where he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Torts and in Constitutional Law.
News of Arenas and Furmanski joining the firm comes on the heels of several announcements from Broad and Cassel in South Florida and across the state. Recently, the firm announced the addition of Associate Jamie Gelfman in Fort Lauderdale. Additionally, 45 of the firm’s attorneys were recently included in The Best Lawyers in America® 2018, which also named four as “Lawyer of the Year” in their respective specialty areas.
