Duane Morris & Selvam represented the owners of Ecuadorian business Industrial Pesquera Santa Priscila, one of the world’s largest shrimp farming companies, in its corporate restructuring and 20% sale to Japanese corporate group Mitsui, worth US$360 million. Ramiro Rodriguez led the deal, supported by Alison Lewis, both of the Singapore office. This is one of the largest M&A deals in the history of Ecuador. According to Reuters, the deal is expected to cement Mitsui’s role in the industry and capture rising consumer demand for higher protein food.
