Duane Morris & Selvam represented the owners of Ecuadorian business Industrial Pesquera Santa Priscila, one of the world’s largest shrimp farming companies, in its corporate restructuring and 20% sale to Japanese corporate group Mitsui, worth US$360 million. Ramiro Rodriguez led the deal, supported by Alison Lewis, both of the Singapore office. This is one of the largest M&A deals in the history of Ecuador. According to Reuters, the deal is expected to cement Mitsui’s role in the industry and capture rising consumer demand for higher protein food. Eduardo Ramos-Gómez, of the Singapore office, was the contact partner.
