With the support of the Dominican Republic Embassy in France, Ulises Cabrera Law is launching a series of multi-media presentations on the tax incentives in the Dominican Republic, in Spanish and French.

The series consists of four videos highlighting the principal tax incentives available in the Dominican Republic towards facilitating foreign investment and development. The honorable Dominican Republic Ambassador to France, Rosa Hernández de Grullón, speaks in the videos, indicating that  the Dominican Republic is the largest target for direct foreign investment in the Caribbean.

In addition, Ulises Cabrera Law attorneys José Cruz Campillo, Magdalena Almonte, Mónica Villafaña and Heiddy Moronta discuss Law 8-90 promoting Export Free Zones, Law 108-10 promoting the movie industry, Law 158-01 on promoting Tourism Development for under-developed and new venues in provinces with the greatest potential and creating an official Tourism Promotion fund, and Law 57-07 on Incentives for Renewable Energy and Special Frameworks. The webcast is accessible on the YouTube channel of the Firm , under the same user name.

The Dominican Republic has a set of different laws towards promoting investment in sectors with excellent business opportunities for national and foreign investors. One of the ways the country promotes investment in determined areas of the economy, or geographical regions, is by granting tax incentives, i.e., exempting investors from tax obligations for all or part of their activities and profits deriving from the investment, in exchange for job creation and the transfer of technology and know-how.

Since 2012, Ulises Cabrera Law has published its "Guide to Fiscal Incentives" to allow access for all parties interested in doing business in the Dominican Republic. A fundamental objective of this legislative updating process is to contribute towards an environment favorable to private initiative by way of conditions guaranteeing the judicial security of the investment.

The most recent version of the Guide, updated in 2021, can be found in the web portal of the firm, www.UlisesCabrera.com in Spanish, English and French.
