On March 4, 2026, the renowned legal publication China Business Law Journal (CBLJ) officially released its 2025 "Deals of the Year" rankings. Demonstrating exceptional legal expertise, Everbright Law Firm was recognized for two highly complex cases: the "Hongsheng Yongyuan Industrial Equity Transfer Liability Dispute," handled by the team led by Mr. Wu Hai, and the "Cross-Border Recognition and Assistance in the Insolvency Proceedings of Shengyi Kecheng Industrial," jointly handled by Everbright's Head Office and Hong Kong Branch.

This prestigious accolade serves as a strong testament to Everbright’s formidable practical capabilities in navigating complex challenges within cross-border restructuring and insolvency, as well as cutting-edge commercial dispute resolution.

Case 1: Cross-Border Recognition and Assistance in the Insolvency Proceedings of Shengyi Kecheng Industrial

Team: Everbright Head Office & Hong Kong Branch

Instructed by the insolvency administrator of Shengyi Kecheng Industrial, Everbright's Head Office and Hong Kong Branch collaborated to successfully clear legal hurdles for the Mainland administrator in recovering substantial offshore assets. Markedly, this is a groundbreaking case—the very first instance of a Shanghai insolvency proceeding being recognized and assisted by the High Court of Hong Kong since the signing of the 2021 Record of Meeting on Mutual Recognition of and Assistance to Bankruptcy (Insolvency) Proceedings between the Courts of the Mainland and of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Case 2: Hongsheng Yongyuan Industrial Equity Transfer Liability Dispute

Team: Team led by Mr. Wu Hai

As one of the first victorious final judgments rendered by the Supreme People's Court (SPC) directly clarifying the "retroactivity" of Article 88 following the enactment of the new PRC Company Law in 2024, this case definitively precluded the retroactive application of the new law to prior lawful transactions. The ruling established a vital judicial benchmark for courts nationwide in adjudicating similar disputes.
