TPC Advogados announces the launch of TPC CONSULT, a new division dedicated to tax, fiscal, and strategic consulting, as well as the arrival of Luiz Felippe Quites as a partner. The initiative expands the firm’s practice at a time of significant changes in Brazil’s tax environment, especially with the transition to the new consumption tax model.
According to the firm, the creation of the new division responds to the growing demand from companies for a more analytical, preventive, and structured approach to tax management, given the impacts of the reform and the need to adapt to a more complex regulatory landscape. The proposal is to provide technical support to anticipate risks, review structures, and identify opportunities for tax efficiency.
“We are experiencing one of the most significant transformations of the Brazilian tax system in recent decades. In this context, clients require not only legal certainty in litigation, but also a preventive and strategic approach to tax management. TPC CONSULT was created to support this transition with technical consistency and a business-oriented perspective,” says Gustavo Fernandes Cordeiro, partner at TPC Advogados.
The arrival of Luiz Felippe Quites reinforces this move. With experience in consulting and executive work in the tax field, the new partner joins the firm with the goal of developing a practice focused on business-oriented tax intelligence, in synergy with the firm’s already established areas, such as Corporate Law, M&A, and Tax Litigation.
“The current landscape requires companies, during the reform transition, to deal with new compliance requirements, process reviews, and structural adaptations. At the same time, this context also creates room for more efficient decisions from both a tax and operational standpoint. Tax consulting now plays a central role in this process,” says Luiz Felippe Quites.
In its first years of operation, TPC CONSULT will focus on services such as tax reform impact assessments, tax planning review, corporate restructuring aimed at tax efficiency, and tax credit recovery. The proposal is to operate in a complementary way to litigation, strengthening risk prevention and the structuring of solutions before judicialization or the onset of disputes.
“Tax consulting complements the work already carried out by the firm in an organic way. While litigation focuses on defending the client’s interests in ongoing disputes, consulting acts preventively, with a focus on risk mitigation, operational organization, and the identification of opportunities. This integration expands the firm’s ability to respond to tax matters,” adds Gustavo Fernandes Cordeiro.
With the launch of the new division, TPC Advogados seeks to expand its role in highly complex tax matters and strengthen its positioning as a strategic partner for companies facing Brazil’s new fiscal landscape.
