Hong Kong, 17 October 2017: Three new recruits – Paralegal Vivian Yu and Trainee Solicitors Joshua Tong and Willa Wong – have joined the expanding legal team at Boase Cohen & Collins.
Vivian completed her law degree at the University of Sussex in the UK, graduating in 2015, and then gained her Master of Laws at the University of Hong Kong, where her areas of research included intellectual property, privacy and data protection. She is now studying part-time at HKU for her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws. She is already familiar to colleagues at Boase Cohen & Collins, having served two spells as a summer intern.
Joshua studied law at City University of Hong Kong from 2012-16, during which time his summer work experience included an internship at the Shanghai No.2 Intermediate People’s Court. As well, he was a participant in the Global Legal Education and Awareness Project, which involved studies at University College, Oxford, and Monash University in Melbourne. After graduating with first class honours last year, he remained at City University to complete his Postgraduate Certificate in Laws.
Willa gained a Bachelor of Arts from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she majored in Social Policy and Administration, a course which included a spell as an exchange student at the University of Nottingham in the UK. She then enrolled in the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Juris Doctor programme – a law degree for graduates from a non-law discipline – graduating in 2016, before studying for her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the same establishment.
Welcoming the trio to BC&C, Senior Partner Colin Cohen commented: “At Boase Cohen & Collins, we have an excellent record of promoting local talent and providing emerging lawyers with a clear and accessible career path, so we are delighted to have three more outstanding young professionals join our team.
“Vivian, Joshua and Willa all have strong academic backgrounds complemented by excellent interpersonal skills and admirable commitment. We are confident they are embarking on long and successful careers in the legal profession.”
