LEGAL ANALYSIS OF REGULATIONS AND AMENDMENTS OF LAW N° 30021 - ACT TO PROMOTE HEALTHY EATING AMONG CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS UNDER INTERNATIONAL TREATIES
We assisted SNI with the analysis of regulations related with the said Law (e.g. Health Warnings Manual) and its consistency with the WTO Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) and Intellectual Property Rights Agreement, Free Trade Agreements (Pacific Alliance), and the Andean Community Act.
Moreover, we represent SNI in the consumer protection commission at the Peruvian Parliament discussing amendments of Law N° 30021, for example, the application of hybrid traffic light nutrition labelling schemes in light of WTO / Codex Alimentarius. Mr. Bernal led this analysis with an outstanding performance. This matter shows our high level knowledge of TBT, showing how a health measure may collide with WTO obligations. Moreover, show our legal expertise in health and food industry, analysing nutritional labelling and Codex Alimentarius / WHO.
