The role of Etihad included providing specialized legal advice, drafting and reviewing the terms of MOUs to ensure its compliance with Iraqi laws and international standards, supporting the legal negotiations between the parties, providing legal protection for the rights and obligations of stakeholders.
The Iraqi Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, sponsored the signing ceremony of a second memorandum of understanding, which outlined the principles of cooperation between the Ministry of Electricity and UGT Renewables to establish an integrated #solar_energy project with a capacity of 3,000 MW, along with the construction of up to 1,000 KM of new high-voltage direct current (HVDC) #transmission infrastructure.
This project is a strategic initiative to enhance energy security in Iraq through diversifying production sources, transferring technology, and training national cadres, thus supporting sustainable development efforts. Etihad is proud of its pivotal role in preparing the comprehensive legal framework for this project and contributing to the implementation of the Iraqi #government's vision to advance the electricity sector and achieve the transition to #clean_renewable_energy.
