As of January 1st, 2019, returned his practice to our to continue to service and grow the firm’s international initiatives in Australasia. The firm is the only Canadian law firm with an office in Australia, and the Sydney office is the hub of our and services the firm’s clients in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
Quentin previously practised in the firm’s Sydney office (2011 – 2016) before joining its Vancouver office (2016 - 2018). He will continue his practice in the region and will have the ability to provide clients access to a wide knowledge of the Australasian and Asian markets as well as a broad network of legal and financial contacts. Quentin, as Co-Head of the , will continue to provide a high level of Canadian legal services to the firm’s Canadian and international mining clients, as well as support the Global Mining Group’s efforts in the region. Quentin brings his specialized knowledge and significant experience to his role in the region and will continue acting for issuers and brokers in public offerings and in mining joint ventures, royalties and project acquisitions, as well as global private placements, and in transactions involving inter-listed companies, particularly the ASX in Australia, the AIM Market in London and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. In addition, he will continue focusing on corporate finance and merger and acquisition transactions for public companies, with a focus on interjurisdictional transactions in the mining sector.
Internationally recognized as a leading lawyer in Energy: Mining and International Expertise by The Legal 500 Canada 2019, and described in client feedback as ‘extremely experienced’, Quentin has a long track record of success in partnering with clients involved in complex projects that span across multiple jurisdictions and this move establishes him as the best person for this role. This move by Quentin is part of the firm’s ongoing development of its presence in Asia-Pacific and commitment to having deep roots in the region to service clients better. It will further allow Stikeman Elliott to reinforce its reputation as the market leader in Canadian law in Asia-Pacific, as well as strengthen the trust clients place in us to service their business needs across time zones.
