Holland & Knight served as legal counsel to Jackson Square Aviation (JSA) on the sale and leaseback financing of the first Airbus A320neo aircraft to be operated in Latin America. The plane was delivered to LATAM Airlines Group at Airbus's headquarters in Toulouse, France, on August 29.
This was San Francisco-based JSA's first delivery of the Airbus NEO family and signals the start of its strategic shift toward financing the latest technology narrow-body aircraft for its customers, according to President and CEO Toby Bright.
The Airbus A320neo incorporates advanced technology such as new generation engines and "Sharklet" wing tip devices, which deliver more than 15 percent in fuel savings. LATAM will initially operate the aircraft on domestic flights within Brazil and expects to start flights on international routes in South America this November.
The Holland & Knight team advising JSA was led by Nathan Leavitt, a partner in the firm's London office. Other members of the team included Associates Joyce Qi and Nicolas Endre.
