In another strategic expansion aimed at solidifying its market prominence in Poland, Greenberg Traurig, a renowned global law firm, is pleased to announce that Piotr Nerwiński, a former partner and co-head of the banking and finance team at a leading international law firm, joins the firm’s Warsaw office as Shareholder and Head of the Warsaw Project and Structured Finance Practice along with his specialized team of six lawyers. This will lead to the creation of a new Greenberg Traurig Project and Structured Finance Practice in Warsaw under Piotr’s leadership.
Piotr Nerwiński brings wealth of experience advising on broad spectrum of financing transactions on the Polish and Central and Eastern European markets. He specialises in project finance, real estate finance, sustainability-linked loans and other structured financings. Piotr puts a particular focus on financing of renewable energy projects, where he advised on some of the largest wind and PV power plants financings in the region. He represents a number of Polish and foreign banks, multilaterals, private debt providers, sponsors and borrowers.
Piotr is ranked as a Leading Individual by EMEA Legal 500 with respect to Banking and Finance, recognized individually by Chamber Europe and Chambers Global in Banking and Finance as well as a Rising Star Partner by IFLR1000 with respect to Project Finance and Banking and Finance. Piotr is an advocate and a graduate of the University of Warsaw.
Piotr Nerwiński joins Greenberg Traurig together with his core team comprising Paweł Długoborski and Justyna Jamroży, who are joining the firm at the position of Counsel. As a former counsel at an international law firm with more than 10 years of professional experience, Paweł advises on transactions from the entire spectrum of credit health, from healthy credit new money deals (corporate, acquisition and project finance) to refined, stretched and distressed credit situations. Justyna, previously counsel at an international law firm with more than a decade of experience, focuses her practice on syndicated and leveraged finance transactions with a particular emphasis on project finance in the renewable energy sector. The team also includes Senior Associate Jakub Walawski, Associate Małgorzata Czarnecka as well as two Junior Associates: Weronika Łakoma and Aleksandra Grześkowiak.
