Pinilla, González & Prieto Abogados one of the leading firms in Colombia, announced the launch of its Renewable and Non-Renewable Energies practice and hired Claudia Mora Uscátegui as the firm's new partner to lead this area.

Claudia is a lawyer from the University of La Sabana, has a Diploma in Legal Studies from the University of London (Birkbeck College), and a specialization in Business Law from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Her professional experience has been developed in the energy sector for the last 16 years, leading the legal area in essential companies dedicated to exploring and exploiting hydrocarbons and minerals in Colombia, including international operations. Due to her extensive knowledge of the negotiation and preparation of Contracts in the Oil and Gas industry, Claudia has been responsible for the administration and control of contracts signed with entities such as the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) and Ecopetrol, in Colombia; and with counterpart entities in Africa, the United States and Paraguay. His track record in energy sector transactions includes the purchase, spin-off, and merger of foreign and domestic private sector companies; and international financing transactions such as the issuance of private bonds, international bank loans, and the structuring of companies with assets in energy projects on the Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX.

As a new partner of PGP, and thanks to her experience in the development of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) emissions reduction programs for the generation of Carbon Credits and their respective international commercialization; and in legal advice to projects related to Renewable Energies, Claudia will focus her leading role on comprehensive advice to national and international companies in the energy sector, aiming at the development of projects in Colombia according to the guidelines established by the National Government on energy transition; supporting the clients of the firm in the challenges and opportunities that this transition involves.
