Mike Abelow presented alongside Stephen Metz of Offit Kurman, P.A. on “Post-Confirmation Oversight” at the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees Annual Conference on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The session covered the role trustees have—or should have—in monitoring debtor compliance with confirmed plans and identifying the tools available to support that oversight.
The conference provided members with opportunities to participate in a variety of educational sessions, connect with colleagues, and engage in timely discussions shaping the future of the bankruptcy industry. The National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees is the only organization dedicated to the Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Subchapter V Trustee community.
In Mike’s legal practice, he represents a diverse clientele at the intersection of business litigation and business bankruptcy.
As a Chapter 11, SubChapter V Trustee, he plays a critical role in managing a debtor’s estate and ensuring fairness to both debtors and creditors. As a Chapter 7 Trustee, he acts as a fiduciary for creditors involving companies with debts up to $7.5 million in lieu of an appointed creditors committee, helping facilitate deals between debtors and creditors towards consensual plans of reorganization. In federal district court and in state trial courts, Mike litigates all types of business disputes, with a particular focus on breach of contract, business torts, lender liability, receivership, and real estate disputes.
