KG's Energy Infrastructure practice has achieved another significant milestone in its ongoing collaboration with Avis Budget Greece, successfully advising the team for the conclusion of the EPC agreement for the construction of a high-voltage substation [150/33kV (90-110MVA)].
The EPC agreement is entered into with one of Greece’s largest and most specialized contractors in this field and was concluded after extensive negotiations, reflecting both the materiality of the project and the demanding timeframe involved.
This substation constitutes a critical component in the expansion of the client’s investments in its energy business as it is essential for the interconnection of a BESS project developed by AVIS, one of the first which will become operational in the country while also enabling the interconnection of further BESS and RES project to the Grid. It also marks the latest achievement in KG’s broader support of Avis Budget Greece, which has included:
- the development of the contractual framework for the procurement and installation of essential equipment,
- structuring strategic partnerships, and
- delivering key guidance on the complex regulatory landscape governing the BESS energy sector.
This milestone underscores the team’s continued commitment to delivering strategic, technically informed, and time-sensitive legal support in major energy infrastructure projects.
Support for the client was provided by Konstantinos Varelas and Tryfonia Angelidou, under the direction of team lead Gus Papamichalopoulos.
