On July 19, 2024, CLECSS announced their Top 10 Outstanding Young Lawyers list. JunHe partners YANG, Chen and XIONG, Jingui (Alice) made the list.
The selection panel for the CLECSS Top 10 Outstanding Young Lawyers was composed of senior legal professionals. Twelve young lawyers were selected by the panel based on the principle of "Think Big; Do Big."
Mr. Yang obtained his Bachelor of Laws from China University of Political Science and Law and his Master of Laws from the University of Hamburg and is now practicing at JunHe’s Beijing head office. He advises on competition law, compliance, litigation, and security reviews of foreign investment. Mr. Yang’s clients are from a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, automotive and parts, petrochemicals, energy resources, fast-moving consumer goods (food, brewery and cosmetics), semiconductors, industrial manufacturing, internet, finance and insurance, aviation, shipping, telecommunications, real estate and private equity funds.
With more than ten years’ practice, Mr. Yang has handled many merger control notifications, including complex and high-profile cases. Global Competition Review recognized a deal he advised on as the Merger Control Matter of the Year: Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Mr. Yang has participated in various antitrust investigations and compliance programs, including advising clients to defend antitrust investigations, applying for leniency or commitment, assisting clients in establishing compliance systems, providing professional advice regarding antitrust legal issues, and assisting clients in identifying antitrust risks and developing proper rectification measures. He has participated in antitrust litigations involving abuse of market dominance, abuse of SEP and resale price maintenance (RPM).
Ms. Xiong joined JunHe in 2016 and is a partner at the firm’s Guangzhou office. She practices in areas such as domestic and international capital markets, corporate and M&A, life sciences and healthcare. Ms. Xiong received her Master of Laws in Hong Kong and worked at the Hong Kong offices of two leading international law firms before joining JunHe. She is well versed in domestic and overseas listing rules and practices and has assisted clients with their capital operations. Ms. Xiong has participated in multiple IPOs in Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States and the A-share market (including red-chip and H-share IPOs, spin-offs, reverse takeovers deemed as new listings, etc.) and refinancing projects. She has extensive experience in domestic and overseas listings, red-chip structuring, restructuring and refinancing.
Ms. Xiong has assisted nearly 30 enterprises with their Hong Kong, Singapore, U.S. and A-share listings and refinancing and has also assisted Hong Kong-listed companies in privatization and the resumption of trading. She participated in BoCom International’s spin-off from BoCom, the listing of MINISO and Yuexiu Property’s rights issue, which were honored as Deals of the Year by China Business Law Journal. Ms. Xiong has assisted clients in conducting due diligence and mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare, education, new energy, high-end manufacturing, commercial retail and real estate industries. She serves as the regular counsel to multiple companies and assists them in handling compliance matters.
