Jara Del Favero Abogados advised Minera Centinela, its parent company Antofagasta Minerals S.A., and Marubeni Copper in the realization of financing for the construction of the Nueva Centinela - DMC project, which will increase the production of copper, gold, and molybdenum, as well as the sale of these minerals.

This financing was provided by a group of banks and development agencies, namely: Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Export Development Canada, Export-Import Bank of Korea, and commercial banks Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, KfW IPEX-Bank, Natixis España and NY Branch, Societe Generale, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

JDF's advice involved negotiating, drafting, and reviewing the financing structure from the perspective of Chilean law, both in the due diligence stage and in the granting of documentation to materialize the credits, guarantees, disbursements, and other documentation and contracts customary in Project Finance in the metal mining industry. The capital contribution by the shareholders of Minera Centinela was also considered within the financing process.

The operation involved US$2,500 million.

The JDF team was led by partner Felipe Ovalle and included Felipe Davanzo, Josefina Holtehuer, Antonia Franken, and Fernando Valenzuela.
