CorralRosales advised Hydro San Jacinto in connection with the development of a 50 MW hydroelectric project, following the award of the concession through Ecuador’s public selection process aimed at promoting private investment in renewable power generation. The project represents an estimated investment of approximately USD 82 million.
As part of the project, CorralRosales advised on (i) the negotiation and execution of an investment agreement with the Ecuadorian State for approximately USD 45 million, strengthening the legal protections applicable to that portion of the investment; and (ii) compliance with the conditions precedent required to achieve the project's effective date.
The firm's work also included the design and implementation of legal strategies to address administrative, regulatory, tax and other legal matters that were critical to the advancement of the project.
