Holland & Knight, together with Consortium Legal in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, ARIFA in Panama, and Garrigues in Peru, has advised Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. (Bladex) as sole lead arranger and bookrunner and administrative agent on a $120 million three-year senior unsecured syndicated loan to GMG Holding S.A. and its subsidiaries (Grupo Monge).
Grupo Monge is one of the two largest integrated durable goods retailers and consumer finance providers in Central America, with 518 stores across five countries in Central America and Peru. The deal closed on April 27.
Bladex, a multinational bank originally established by the central banks of Latin-American and Caribbean countries, initiated operations in 1979 to promote foreign trade finance and economic integration in the region.
