The European private equity firm Waterland is entering into a strategic partnership with BODE, a leading global provider of door and access systems for public transport.

Waterland acquires BODE from Schaltbau Group, which is majority-owned by Carlyle.

Together with the management team, Waterland will support BODE in the next phase of its development, with a focus on boosting growth, innovation and international expansion as well as further strengthening customer service capabilities. Public transport is a structurally growing market, driven by urbanisation, sustainability targets and continued investment in rail infrastructure globally.

Hengeler Mueller advised Waterland comprehensively on the transaction.
