Hengeler Mueller advised Knorr-Bremse Group comprehensively on the intra-group restructuring of its rail division. The restructuring was completed upon the spin-off taking effect on July 1, 2026.

As part of an internal restructuring of the Group, the operating business of Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH — comprising the Brakes and Couplers business units — with just under 2,000 employees was transferred to a wholly owned subsidiary through a spin-off. The transferring company has been renamed Knorr-Bremse Global Rail Holding GmbH and will serve as the global management holding company for the Knorr-Bremse Group’s Rail Division, with a new management structure.
