Grupo Cerro, a new renewable energy platform in Chile that includes the largest concentrating solar power plant in Latin America (Cerro Dominador), acquired 11 small and medium-sized run-of-river hydroelectric plants from ANPAC, a Chilean company, located in four regions in the center-south of the country.

With this acquisition, Cerro Dominador —owned by EIG, a U.S. fund— totals 280 MW of installed generation capacity in Chile, positioning itself at the forefront of the non-conventional renewable energy sector.

In this transaction, Grupo Evans advised Grupo Cerro in the legal due diligence of this transaction, as well as in the complete purchase process. Partner Sebastián Yunge was involved in the operation, as well as associates Gabriela Correa and Andrea Duarte.

Cerro Dominador was represented by General Counsel Pablo Cavallaro and Senior Legal Counsel Andrés Bellagamba, and by the New York office of Milbank, a law firm. With this acquisition, Grupo Cerro reinforces its commitment to the geographic diversification of renewable energies in the Chilean market.
