FerradaNehme Now Has a Majority of Female Partners

Of its 15 partners, 8 are women—an unprecedented figure among the largest and most prestigious law firms in Chile, which, to this day, continue to be predominantly led by men.

Since its establishment in 2000, FerradaNehme has understood that true excellence is not only built on strong results, but also on profound convictions regarding matters of importance. Guided by this vision, the firm has consistently valued gender equality, diversity, and inclusion as integral to its identity. In this context, the recent appointment of Catalina Iñiguez as a partner not only marks a milestone in her professional career, but also for the firm as a whole—making FerradaNehme the only major law firm in Chile with a majority of female partners.

Catalina Iñiguez’s appointment as partner, effective 30th April and officially announced on 8th May, crowns an exemplary professional trajectory within the firm. Catalina joined FerradaNehme as a trainee eleven years ago and has progressed through every stage of professional development: associate, senior associate, director, senior director, and now partner. Her practice has focused primarily on competition law, with extensive experience in litigation before the Competition Court, investigations by the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office, merger control analysis, and the design of compliance programmes. She has also worked on matters relating to administrative and consumer law, as well as high-impact legislative initiatives.

"Becoming a partner at this firm after more than a decade of work is a deeply meaningful milestone. I hope to contribute to FerradaNehme remaining a place of excellence, where work is done with care, innovation, and collaboration. I am proud that, with this appointment, we become a pioneering firm in Chile—achieving a majority of female partners. This reflects the significant and ongoing contribution FN is making toward achieving gender equality in the legal profession," said Catalina Iñiguez.

For managing partner Rodrigo Ferrada, this appointment carries additional symbolic weight: “Beyond the joy of welcoming Catalina as a partner—bringing with her a wealth of talent, skills, and competencies—her appointment fulfils an ambitious goal we have long pursued: achieving a female majority within the partnership. At the same time, it is deeply gratifying to see someone who has built their entire professional career at FerradaNehme now joining the partnership.”
