Recently, Lexology, a leading global legal information and research platform, published the China chapter of its 2026 Panoramic series, Restructuring & Insolvency 2026 – China. Everbright Law Firm was invited to serve as the sole author of the chapter. Previously, Everbright had also completed the China chapter of Lexology’s 2026 Panoramic series, Corporate Reorganisations 2026 – China.

The principal authors of both chapters are Liu Yi, Managing Partner of Everbright’s Shanghai head office and Head of its Hong Kong office; Chen Ziyuan, Managing Partner; and Shao Jiecheng, Partner. They were joined by lawyers Hou Bingqian, Cai Xinyuan, Jia Jia and Du Chen’an from Everbright’s Liquidation and Restructuring team.

The newly published Restructuring & Insolvency 2026 – China chapter focuses on one of the core practice areas in which Everbright’s Liquidation and Restructuring team has long specialised. It provides a systematic overview of China’s insolvency and restructuring regime, judicial practice, cross-border cooperation and related developments. The Corporate Reorganisations 2026 – China chapter, meanwhile, examines the principal types of corporate reorganisation transactions in China, together with the relevant legal framework and regulatory practice.

Everbright Law Firm has long been active in domestic and cross-border insolvency and restructuring. The firm has been repeatedly included on the list of Tier-1 corporate bankruptcy administrators recognised by the Shanghai High People’s Court and the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice, while Everbright’s Zhengzhou office has also been included on Henan Province’s roster of corporate bankruptcy administrators. The practice is primarily carried out through close collaboration among the firm’s Shanghai head office, Hong Kong office and Zhengzhou office, under an integrated firm-wide and cross-border operating model. This structure gives the team a strong advantage in handling complex insolvency, restructuring and cross-border reorganisation matters.

Lexology is a leading global legal information and research platform. Panoramic is one of its key cross-jurisdictional comparative research products, featuring contributions from leading practitioners across different jurisdictions and providing corporate counsel, financial institutions, investors and professional advisers with authoritative and practical legal and regulatory intelligence. Everbright’s consecutive invitations to contribute to the China chapters reflect international recognition of the firm’s professional capabilities and practical experience in insolvency and restructuring, corporate reorganisations and cross-border insolvency cooperation.
