Dmytro Marchukov, senior partner and co-head of Cross-Border Litigation and Private Client at INTEGRITES, has been appointed PPID Liaison Officer within the Litigation Committee of the International Bar Association.

Dmytro Marchukov: “In the past decade, we have lived in the world, which is becoming increasingly fragile, unstable and unpredictable. It is exactly the environment where the social role of lawyers, including litigators, cannot be confined to serving clients only (which is, of course, an important role in itself). It should also encompass serving the local communities, cultivating peer solidarity and advocating for the core values. I am, therefore, utterly humbled for being entrusted with the task, within the Litigation Committee of the IBA, to develop the interaction with its Public and Professional Interest Division. That is certainly a new capacity for me but pretty much relevant and thrilling.”

The IBA Litigation Committee focuses on the legal, practical and procedural issues involved in conducting litigation. It pays particular attention to the comparative analysis of differences and developments in individual jurisdictions, as well as to the jurisdiction, choice of law, and the role of international judicial assistance in dispute resolution. The committee also seeks to explore the differences of approach between the common law and civil law traditions, and to encourage a dialogue between practitioners from these two systems.
