Berwins Solicitors has invested in developing its most recent family law recruit to meet a growing demand for the latest divorce trend.
Danielle Day,who qualified as a solicitor three years ago, has just completed her qualification as a collaborative family lawyer.
Collaborative law was first introduced to the UK more than a decade ago but has become more widely used over the last two years. It involves bringing separating couples around the table with their legal advisers to reach agreement collaboratively rather than through solicitor-led negotiation or the courts.
Sarah Smith, Managing Director at Berwins and part of the family team herself, said that around 40 per cent of the firm’s cases are now conducted collaboratively, prompting the latest investment in training and development.
“Danielle is one of a number of recent recruits to the firm and she has been an enthusiastic advocate of the latest family law trend, which recognises the fact that fewer people want to fight things out through the courts.
“Collaborative Law is only going to increase in popularity as awareness of the process grows and Danielle is now able to work with our clients to offer them this progressive round table approach.
“Her qualification means that our entire family team is now collaboratively trained to meet the growing demand for non-confrontational separation and divorce.”
