Dentons has advised Sev.en Energy, a major player on the Czech energy market, on strategic acquisition of a 17.1% share in Corsa Coal Corp., a US-based metallurgical coal producer with mines in Pennsylvania and Maryland, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Sev.en Energy owns significant coal and energy production assets in the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and Australia. It is the largest private operator of coalmines and conventional power plants in the Czech Republic, and employs more than 3,500 people. The transaction marks the Group’s entry into both the metallurgical coal mining industry and the US.
