Denny Shupe was recently selected as the first President of the recently-formed Penn Law Veterans Alumni Association (PLVAA). The PLVAA, at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, welcomes participation by alumni who are veterans, spouses of veterans, family members of veterans, or those simply interested in military veteran issues. The Association strives to support current students, recruit veterans to apply to Penn Law, assist and support alumni, host veteran-related educational and networking events on campus and around the country, and contribute to bridging the military and civilian divide.

Shupe, a retired Air Force command and instructor pilot, is involved with a variety of military veteran causes, including representation of veterans before the Veterans Administration. The Philadelphia Business Journal presented him with one of its inaugural Veterans of Influence Awards in 2015.
