This transaction, one of the largest industrial deals in Europe in the telecommunications sector, marks a major milestone in the reshaping of the French telecommunications market.
Bouygues Telecom would notably acquire SFR Business, part of SFR’s customer base (5.9 million customers) and the Prixtel MVNO. Free would notably acquire the entire RED by SFR customer base (6 million customers) and part of SFR’s B2C activities (1.6 million customers). Orange would notably acquire part of SFR’s B2C activities and the Réglo, Syma and Coriolis MVNOs (i.e., a total of 4.9 million customers).
The transaction remains, inter alia, subject to consultation with employee representative bodies and to applicable regulatory approvals, including clearance from the competent competition authorities.
