The Conyers Cayman Islands Private Client & Trust practice is honoured to have provided pro bono consultancy to the King’s Trust International on the establishment of a Cayman STAR Trust to strengthen the charity’s capacity to tackle the global youth unemployment crisis in the Cayman Islands and throughout the Caribbean region.

The King’s Trust International (KTI) (previously known as The Prince’s Trust International) was established in 2015 by His Majesty King Charles III with a mandate of empowering youth around the world through access to education, employment and enterprise programmes. Through programmes and interventions in 20 countries, KTI helps young people to develop their potential through practical and rewarding training and development initiatives.

Upon establishing The King’s Trust International STAR Trust, KTI plans to launch additional programmes in the Cayman Islands and the wider Caribbean region.

This engagement is reflective of Conyers’ broader commitment to pro bono work in each of its jurisdictions. The firm has previously advised on the establishment of the Hannah’s Heroes STAR Trust, providing trustee services and legal advice on a pro bono basis in relation to the establishment and administration of the Trust, which raises funds in the Cayman Islands for the benefit of the childhood cancer charitable organisation St Baldrick’s Foundation.

These engagements also complement the firm’s dedication to the education and development of young people through various scholarships, awards and pupillage opportunities across its global network of offices.
