We are pleased to announce that, as of September 8, 2025, Ceren Şen has joined our Istanbul office as Partner, Head of Banking, Finance and Capital Markets.

Şen started her career at the European Court of Human Rights after completing her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Strasbourg and Istanbul University. Between 2006 and 2022, she served as associate and Partner at one of Türkiye’s leading law firms. Throughout her career, she honed her expertise in banking and finance by taking part in market-leading project and acquisition financings, both on the lenders’ and borrowers’ side. During this period, she successfully acted as leading lawyer in numerous domestic and international syndicated financings, leveraged buy-outs, corporate financings, financial restructurings and other high-profile loan transactions. She specifically assisted a wide base of clients in cross-border and multi-layered security-backed financings with her market and legal knowledge.

In parallel, she accompanied both Turkish corporate issuers, international arrangers and investors in several “first of a kind” transactions in the Turkish capital markets. She worked on issuances of various debt instruments, Eurobonds and high yield bonds, and acted as leading lawyer in the first-ever securitizations and structured finance transactions in the Turkish market. She developed a deep expertise in Turkish capital markets by also taking an active role in initial public offerings.

From 2022 to 2025, she served as Principal Counsel at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and provided assistance in various matters, such as project financings, corporate financings, securitizations of different types including synthetic securitizations, as well as direct equity investments in Türkiye and other countries of operations.

Şen is admitted to both Paris and Istanbul Bar Associations and was ranked several years in a row as a market leading individual in the area of Banking & Finance, by several institutions including IFLR, Chambers Europe and Legal500. She has extensive experience providing comprehensive legal advice to multinational corporations, lenders and financial institutions.

We believe that Ceren Şen will be a valuable addition to Erdem & Erdem, and we are delighted to share this exciting development with you.
