Campos Thomaz Advogados, in partnership with Indian law firm PBS | Panag, Babu & Sarangi, has published “A Comparative Guide to Data Protection Laws in Brazil and India”, a guide that compares, point by point, Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA).
The guide covers more than 40 points of regulatory comparison between the two regimes, including the legal bases for processing personal data, international transfer rules, the timeframes and content required for incident notification, the requirement to appoint a data protection officer (DPO), and data subject rights.
