BLOMSTEIN assisted Xerox Holdings Corporation on German foreign direct investment control aspects relating its acquisition of Lexmark International, Inc. The deal valued at USD 1.5 billion was completed on July 1.
This acquisition strengthens Xerox’s core business in the printing sector and creates a more comprehensive global offering of print and managed print services that is better aligned with the demands of the hybrid work environment. The merger brings together two leading players in the printing industry, creating a unified organisation that now serves over 200,000 clients in more than 170 countries and operates 125 manufacturing and distribution sites in 16 countries.
U.S.-based Xerox, founded in 1906, has earned a reputation as a pioneer in document technology and related services. Lexmark, also headquartered in the USA and a longstanding partner and supplier to Xerox, is recognised for its expertise in A4 colour printing, imaging software and embedded solutions.
BLOMSTEN advised Xerox together with Ropes & Gray. The BLOMSTEIN team included Roland Stein, Leonard von Rummel, Elisa Steinhöfel, Sarah Beischau and Marcelo Sequeira de Sousa (all FDI).
Many thanks Xerox and the entire Ropes & Gray team for the trust they have placed in us!
