Beccar Varela advised POSCO Argentina S.A.U. on the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of NRG Metals Argentina S.A., for a total value of USD 65 million.

NRG Metals Argentina S.A. is a subsidiary of Lithium South Development Corporation, a Canadian public company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (Toronto Stock Exchange). The company holds the Hombre Muerto Norte Lithium Project, which comprises the Sophia I, II and III concessions, as well as the recently acquired Hydra X and XI concessions, located in the Salar del Hombre Muerto, one of the areas with the largest lithium reserves in Argentina.

POSCO Argentina S.A.U. is the Argentine subsidiary of POSCO, a global steel and energy conglomerate headquartered in South Korea. POSCO owns the Sal de Oro lithium project, also located in the Salar del Hombre Muerto, and through this transaction expands its participation in lithium development in Argentina, strengthening its position in one of the world’s leading production hubs for this resource.

The transaction is subject to the approval of the shareholders of Lithium South Development Corporation, which will be considered at the shareholders’ meeting scheduled for February 19, 2026.
