NEW YORK – Undefeated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) mixed martial arts champion Khabib Nurmagomedov resolved his breach of contract lawsuit against Legionfarm Inc.—a gaming service which specializes in non-fungible tokens (NFTs)— under a confidential settlement agreement that AZA brokered.

Mr. Nurmagomedov, a world-famous athlete and entrepreneur with a 29-0 UFC record, sued Legionfarm in 2023 after the company failed to pay him in full under their 2021 contract for at least $3 million for NFTs to be minted and sold with the champion’s name and likeness. Legionfarm counter-sued for several million dollars alleging that Mr. Nurmagomedov had failed to fulfill his obligations under the sponsorship agreement.

AZA partner Shahmeer Halepota, along with partner DJ Ringquist and senior attorneys Ethan Carlyle and Sara Fatima Dhanji, took over the New York federal litigation two years into the case, swiftly securing a favorable confidential settlement. Following the resolution, Legionfarm posted the following apology on all of its public-facing accounts, including LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram and its website:

“Legionfarm and Alexey Belyankin unequivocally apologize to Khabib Nurmagomedov for Legionfarm’s failure to fulfill its contractual obligations. Although Khabib could have continued litigation, at our request, Khabib has graciously allowed Legionfarm to tap out from the lawsuit and amicably resolve our dispute. We cannot thank Khabib and his team enough for their honesty, integrity, and kindness. Khabib was a model business partner and Legionfarm’s failure to fulfill its commitments was Legionfarm’s fault alone.”

The apology corrects the false allegations Legionfarm asserted via its counterclaims.

The case is Khabib Nurmagomedov v Legionfarm Inc. in the Southern District of New York, case number 1:23-cv-06683.
