Antonio Milton Named Top 40 under 40 by National Black Lawyers

HOUSTON – AZA lawyer Antonio Milton was selected by The National Black Lawyers as a Top 40 under 40 in Texas. The invitation-only organization choses rising stars by examining their achievements, reputations and recommendations from leading lawyers to determine the best in each state.
The National Black Lawyers was created to celebrate legal excellence in part by developing a strong national network of elite African American attorneys through networking and promoting their expertise.
Previously named a Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2026, Mr. Milton is an appellate lawyer who represents clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts. His experience includes Jones Act, RICO Act, breach of contract, professional responsibility, business tort and personal injury cases on both sides of the bar.
His recent successes include:
- Successfully defending the dismissal of civil RICO claims seeking more than $16 million against a chiropractic care network in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. See Farmers Tex. County Mut. Ins. Co. v. 1st Choice Accident & Inj., L.L.C., 168 F.4th 271 (5th Cir. 2026).
- Obtaining a reversal of trial court’s dismissal of class action invasion of privacy and breach of fiduciary duty claims in the Missouri Court of Appeals. This was a a rare win avoiding sovereign immunity and narrowing interpretations of immunity waivers of healthcare providers’ intentional data privacy breaches. See Doe v. Meritas Health Corp., 732 S.W.3d 207 (W.D. Mo. 2026).
Prior to joining AZA, Mr. Milton clerked for the Hon. Carl E. Stewart of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and for the Hon. Nannette Jolivette Brown of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Mr. Milton graduated magna cum laude from the Tulane University Law School, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Tulane Law Review.
His interest in appellate law developed during law school after he completed internships preparing appeals for individuals convicted by non-unanimous jury verdicts.
