Alston & Bird announced today that Satvi Vepa has joined the firm as a partner in its Federal & International Tax Group in London. As Alston & Bird’s first tax partner in London, she expands the firm’s advisory capabilities on global tax issues and brings further strength to the firm’s U.S. and UK transactional practices.
Satvi advises clients on the tax aspects of a range of domestic and cross-border transactions, with particular emphasis on financing transactions, including structured finance and securitizations. She is known for delivering practical, commercial advice tailored to her clients’ business objectives.
“Satvi’s arrival creates greater opportunities for our transactional practices to collaborate seamlessly and strategically across our global offices,” said Scott Harty, chair of the firm’s Tax Department. “She brings exactly the kind of sophisticated UK tax experience clients need for complex financing and cross-border transactions.”
Satvi also has an extensive background steering companies through intricate corporate reorganizations. She advises on global tax considerations for mergers and acquisitions, including transactions involving private equity sponsors and clients in the technology and life sciences sectors.
“We are thrilled to welcome Satvi, who will play a critical role in our growing transactional team in London and across offices,” said Paul Simcock, partner-in-charge of Alston & Bird’s London office. “Her technical prowess and broad transactional expertise will assist our clients in seamlessly navigating cross-border transactions.”
Satvi’s move to Alston & Bird follows the recent additions of Steven Krivinskas and Marcus Lovatt in London, further developing the firm’s corporate, finance, tax, and transactional capabilities in the London market.
“Alston & Bird offers a formidable, integrated platform for cross-border, transaction-driven tax work that is central to my practice,” said Satvi. “It’s energizing and inspiring to join forces with accomplished colleagues across the firm’s practices and offices to guide an impressive roster of clients around the world.”
