Alex Carver represents businesses, executives, trade associations, and state and local governments in high-stakes litigation. He litigates a wide range of business disputes—including contract, tort, and fiduciary duty claims; restrictive covenant disputes; and corporate ownership and governance disputes—as well as challenges to government regulations for trade associations and regulated businesses, commercial real estate disputes, land use and zoning disputes with local governments, antitrust cases, constitutional claims, and statutory interpretation issues. He regularly briefs and argues appeals and critical motions involving novel issues of state and federal law.
Rascoe Dean is a member of the firm’s litigation practice, counseling clients on various business disputes, government investigations, and criminal and commercial matters. Rascoe served for seven years as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee, where he handled hundreds of cases and served as lead counsel in multiple federal jury trials. Rascoe also held several leadership positions at the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO). As a Deputy Criminal Chief, he supervised the daily practice of multiple federal prosecutors in a unit that investigated and prosecuted cases involving firearms, violent crimes, threats in interstate commerce, illegal narcotics, and child exploitation offenses. He also served as the USAO’s Appellate Chief, supervising the office’s appellate practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and assisting with complex legal issues that arose in district court.
