AEQUO acted as a legal advisor to the Kyiv City Council in connection with an up-to EUR 50 million loan facility provided by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to Communal Enterprise "Kyivskiy Metropolitan". The loan is aimed at the expansion of Kyiv’s underground rail network by the financing of the acquisition of new metro cars, spare parts, tools, equipment, and other related services. The fulfillment of obligations under the loan is guaranteed by the Kyiv City Council.
Provision of loan for the acquisition of new metro cars is a part of Vital Infrastructure Support Programme launched by EBRD as an emergency support programme to ensure the provision of vital services despite acute pressure from the COVID-19 pandemic.
AEQUO's project team included Bohdan Dmukhovskyy, counsel, and Anna Potapova, associate, and was led by Yulia Kyrpa, partner and head of Banking & Finance at AEQUO.
“We are proud to be a part of such a significant transaction aimed at an upgrade of Kyiv's public transport network and its expenditure to high density remote areas. AEQUO is happy to assist Kyiv City Council at its new stage of cooperation with EBRD during this challenging period caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic" – comments Yulia Kyrpa.
