Our scope of work included the client’s incorporation in Egypt, as well as the performance of multiple red flag due diligence reports and providing legal memos on the legal landscape in Egypt, especially in terms of private free zones and the land to be purchased for the project. We took a very hands-on approach to this matter in that we organized multiple site-visits and performed extensive vetting processes consisting of background checks and governmental documentation checks. Additionally, as the client does not have in-house legal counsel, we were dealing directly with their business unit. Our business mindset in this regard was useful in that we communicated the legal complexities by also explaining the commercial implications on the business.

Given the challenges facing FDI in Egypt, we always try to enable foreign-owned entities in Egypt to get the best legal advice that would help them maintain their presence in Egypt.
