Oscar has a broad practice in a wide range of chambers’ practice areas including competition, banking and financial services, commercial fraud, energy and natural resources and sports. He is particularly adept when numeracy and an ability to grapple with complex and technical facts are required. Oscar regularly works on complex and high-value cases in the English Courts, including appeals to the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council, and in international arbitration. Oscar has also assisted with proceedings in Jersey, the Isle of Man, the Cayman Islands and Singapore. Recent instructions include: the ongoing Trucks, Interchange and Amazon competition proceedings, RBSI v JP SPC 4 [2022] UKPC 18 (Privy Council considered novel form of Quincecare claim), PIFFS v Al-Rajaan (The Lawyer Top 20 case 2020; £600m+ bribery, dishonest assistance and knowing receipt claims), UNCITRAL proceedings (US$200m+ dispute between national oil companies), and Berkeley Square Holdings v Lancer Property Asset Management [2021] EWHC 849 (Ch) (fraud and bribery claims relating to the UAE President’s c.£6 billion London property portfolio).
